I came across a video last week that showed a person from Georgia trying to melt snow with a BIC lighter. In the video you see the snow turn black and with no apparent water dripping from the snow. At first, it seemed really strange and well, disturbing to say the least. But after digging a little deeper on the internet I found that there was a natural explanation for this occurring and no it isn't chem trails or a government conspiracy but rather a known chemistry explanation called Sublimation.

Sublimation describes the process by which water is vaporized by heat without producing water, I.E. solid to gas transformation. The black residue is caused by butane which burns very dirty.

"Sublimation is the transition of a substance directly from the solid to the gas phase without passing through an intermediate liquid phase. Sublimation is an endothermic phase transition that occurs at temperatures and pressures below a substance's triple point in its phase diagram. The reverse process of sublimation is desublimation, or deposition."   Source: Wikipedia.org
